A long time ago, back when the sun was still young and Bathala still touched the face of the Earth with his own finger tips, man was a nomadic free spirit. With his wife, they roamed the Earth picking fruits and vegetables whenever they please.

He didn't know how to farm and he didn't have to work, but that was alright, since the world was so big and the plants and trees grew on their own.

Once upon a time, there was a prosperous village that's been blessed with a lot. The fruit bearing trees are always bountiful and the yields of the crops, rich. Their jungles were thriving with wild animals that are healthy and robust. Even their rivers and streams were filled with fish that can satisfy all. The place is truly blessed and beautiful and they were the envy of many villages.

Once upon a time, the town of Tagaytay was ruled by an old but powerful man. He was known as Lakan Taal. The townspeople loved and respected their leader because he was wise and just. The town was progressive because of Lakan Taal's good governance.

The couple was blessed with a beautiful baby girl. She was called Maita. The girl had a pretty, long, and smooth hair. Maita’s haire shone like gold whenever light would hit it. She loved to fix herself. She would comb her hair frequently to keep her hair smooth and tangle free.

Many years ago there lived a kind-hearted old man. He was fondly called Apo Sagin by his neighbors.

Apo Sagin lives alone in his shack however, his neighbors had considered him part of the family so he is welcomed in their house anytime. They all loved him as if he was their own grandfather. He was always kind and helpful to them. They could ask anything from him and he would obliged and give it whole-heartedly.

A long time ago when the world was still young, a huge argument ensued between the wild animals and the birds. They argued on who was rightful to live in the rich forest. Both groups would not back down and insisted that they should be the only one in the forest. Because of that, both groups quarreled and fighting occurred. The surviving group would be handed the right to live in the forest.

A hundred years ago, there was a huge drought that occurred here on earth. The heat was intense and there was no rain that poured down. The crops were wilted and the cattle got sick and eventually died. Because of this, food was scarce. The people would look for ways to find food. They would go to the forest and hunt.
